Guwahati young girl girl molested in public by mob. For nearly 30 minutes, a Class 11 student was molested outside a pub in Guwahati by a group of nearly 20 men. On Monday night, the police rescued the girl and handed her over to her parents, but did not make any arrests.
Three people were arrested by local police two days after the atrocity but many still remain free. BJP leader Sushma Swaraj tweeted "we will not let this go unpunished" and said Mrs Bijoya Chakravarty, the party MP from Guwahati, had met the Director General of Police this evening.
The victim was molested when she was returning home after a party at a city bar on Monday. The amateur video shows the mob, consisting of around 20 men, beating the girl before stripping her.
The three people arrested by the police have been charged with trying to outrage the modesty of a girl.
"Three people have been arrested and three others are evading arrest. They, however, have been identified," said Apurba Barua, Senior Superintendent of Police, Assam Police

Shandong City, June 17, 10.00 am, a woman surnamed Wang went out on her electric bike with her four-year-old daughter sitting on the back and her son riding a separate bike. They were heading east when, out of nowhere, a rapidly approaching car hit them head-on. By all accounts it was a horrific accident. The video picks up from here.

 

 

The driver is apparently a university teacher, Zhang Yan, who works at the College of Shandong Provincial Medical College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her students say she teaches human anatomy, psychology and psychiatry, which is all very normal. What she did after she hit the mother and child, however, was anything but.

First, Zhang is hysterical as a bloodied child is pulled from underneath a vehicle. Then, one hears someone from behind the camera say, “She’s taken off all her clothes.” The scene cuts, and then it gets really bizarre. We see someone — Zhang, it turns out — laying in front of an ambulance, blocking its advance. After the camera pans a couple of times, we see Zhang fling the clothes off her body (she has, indeed, already taken them off at least once). When a 60-year-old neighbor approaches her, according to Yimeng Evening News, she shouts, “I will kill you!”

After the four-year-old girl is loaded into the ambulance, Zhang appears to get up and reach into the ambulance to pull her out. Why she does this is no longer the right question. She flings herself on the ground again, sans clothes.

I can’t speculate on the trauma a person’s psyche suffers after witnessing a crowd pull a young girl, bloody and unconscious, from underneath a car. But it does seem reasonable to say, in this case, that that trauma caused Zhang to lose her mind, at least temporarily.

The most recent update, yesterday from Qilu (Shandong) Online, is that Zhang remains detained under criminal charges while an investigation is pending. Updates will follow, Qilu tells us.

The four-year-old died at the hospital. Her mother remains in critical condition.

Naked Woman Board Bus in Bedok Singapore

Just yesterday, a woman paraded in public in all her butt-naked glory - and even boarded a bus in broad daylight.

Witnesses who were present at Bedok told Lianhe Wanbao that they saw a middle-aged woman taking off her clothes piece by piece as she was approaching a bus stop along Bedok Ave 1 on Wednesday evening.

The woman was first spotted at Block 302. While making her way to a bus stop in the rain, witnesses said she stopped halfway, put her bag down on the ground and took off every single piece of clothing she had on her.

The Chinese evening daily reported that the bus stop was crowded at that point in time as well and her jaw-dropping stint caused many to stare at her in disbelief.

The woman continued to walk to the bus stop, as if nothing had happened.

Five minutes later, bus service number 22 approached and witnesses said she casually strolled through the crowd to board the bus.

Upon seeing the naked woman boarding the bus, the driver immediately closed all the doors and called the police.

While waiting for the authorities to arrive, the driver went into an "emergency" mode and instructed all male passengers to move to the front half of the bus.

He then instructed the naked woman to move to the back of the bus and positioned the female passengers around her.

One of them even took off her jacket and offered it to the naked woman, who was led away by the police when they arrived at the scene.

The episode lasted for about 45 minutes.

In a completely shameful and appalling incident, three women in Phoolnagar village, Lahore were subjected to torture and made to walk naked in public. A report stated that the women were accused of prostitution and therefore their house was attacked and they were ‘punished’ for allegedly being involved in prostitution and running a brothel – ‘allegedly’ being the key word.

What sort of a society are we in which we allow women to go through this humiliation day after day? Leave honour killings and domestic abuse aside for a minute – this isn’t about that. This is about assuming one can take the law in their own hands and punishing women according to what suits their taste best.

Sandeela Kanwal, 25, was found dead on her bedroom floor last July. Her father told police he strangled his daughter with a bungee cord because she wanted a divorce.

According to the report, Union Council Nazim Ilyas Khanzada confirmed that this incident took place and police registered a case against the women for allegedly running a brothel. Registration and arrests are understood and accepted but what about the men who tortured them and made them walk naked? Nothing against them? Do we salute their righteousness for locating these women and making a public spectacle out of them? Pity that these are the steps we take to teach ‘others a lesson’.

How can we talk about bringing justice to women when such a mindset and warped way of thinking still exists in our country? Just because we have taken the colossal task of fighting the war on terror, do we ignore these incidents? Do we book an accused every few months, give a column or two to the victims and then forget about it? If we are capable of claiming victory against militancy, how are we not capable of wiping out such demons from society? Aren’t the two linked anyway – Pakistan’s big fight against terror should also include such perpetrators as what bigger form of terrorisation can there compared to that of attacking women and parading them naked on the street. Who are the bigger terrorists – those that flogged a girl in public or those who humiliated these women in public ...?

Dankyira: Women go naked over killings

Emotions were high at Dankyira, a farming community near Weija in the Greater Accra Region, when aggrieved women including widows marched naked to a shrine to perform some rituals to their gods to prove innocence of their sons and husbands who have been arrested in connection with the killings and disturbances that rocked the area some weeks ago.

They also called on their gods to intervene since they now appeared to be strangers in their own land, as they were being hounded by some marauding gangsters who had taken over the village.

The area recently witnessed a chieftaincy dispute, leading to the killing of four persons including a chief and “Wulomo” of the Dankyira Traditional Area.

The deceased were said to have been shot whilst others were butchered with machetes by a gang allegedly loyal to Nii Akramam, a chief laying claim to the stool of Dankyira.

The three persons who died on the spot were Aboye Tetteh, 30; Nii Juabeng Armah, 50, Wulomo of Dankyira; and Abu Mohammed Armah, 45, with Nii Sarbah Mustapha dying later while on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

But the women said the police arrested innocent people and they could not understand why the perpetrators were let off the hook.

The women, who were all dressed in red and partially naked with their bare and dangling breasts in public view, held in their hands bottles of schnapps and other alcoholic beverages and started the march in the early hours of Saturday morning amidst chants of war songs and appellations to their gods.

Amidst wailing, the aggrieved women evoked the spirits of their fore fathers to strike down all those behind the killings and so prove the innocence of their men who had been arrested.

Madam Sarah Ayetso Aryee, leader of the women who spoke to Daily Guide after the rituals, indicated that all their men had fled the town and left behind women and children who now fended for themselves and lived in fear.

“Some of the men are also afraid to come to the town for fear that they would be arrested by the police since the police believe every potential man in the town is a suspect in the killings that took place in the area recently”.

She said the situation had virtually made Dankyira a ‘ghost town’ since all the men, including the young ones, had been compelled to flee the village for fear of being arbitrarily arrested.

The prayer leader maintained that they could no longer go to their farms since their tormentors had laid siege in the bushes and were ready to wreck havoc.

Madam Sarah Ayetso Aryee contended that even though the police were guarding the area 24 hours a day, land-guards were hiding in the bush and making them feel insecure.

Adding her voice, Madam Comfort Odartey Lamptey accused one Nii Noi Morton, aka “Blow”, of engaging the land-guards, numbering over 100, to terrorize them on that fateful day.

She claimed that perpetrators and Blow were walking free as no action had been taken against them, while their husbands and innocent children had rather been arrested.

Madam Odartey Lamptey averred that Blow claimed he had bought part of the land from one Antiye Addy, who was popularly called Kwame Amu of the Djan Bi Amu family, but he was not their king.

“Over the years, we have known only one person to be the chief and that person is Nii Akrama Ayekai II.” She said, “We are not interested in the stool but we only want peace to prevail in our land as we had enjoyed over the years. We want our sons and husbands back.”

She revealed that barely a week ago, the land-guards resurfaced in the town to tie white cloths on all trees by the roadside, signifying that they were back.

They also urged government not to withdraw the police from the area for fear that the land-guards could attack them once again.
